Major ROLLBACK of Abortion Rights: US Supreme Court AGREES to Consider!

Major rollback abortion rights US Supreme Court

18. Mee 2021 | Vun Richard Aern - The US supreme court has announced it will consider a bid to enforce a ban on nearly all abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy! It could be a major win for pro-lifers and conservatives.

The now majority conservative court will hear the case in its next term and could easily lead to the precedent of Roe V Wade being gutted.

This comes after Trump appointed Justice Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court last year, giving conservatives a decisive 6-3 majority. Justice Barrett, a devout catholic will almost certainly agree with a ban on abortions past 15 weeks of pregnancy.

Chief Justice John Roberts, typically known as a conservative has taken sides with the left wing of the court before in favor of women’s rights. However, even with him voting on the left side, conservatives still have a majority thanks to Donald Trump.

Hei ass de Kicker:

Donald Trump appointed three Ieweschte Geriichtshaff during his presidential term which left the court leaning heavily in the conservative direction. Justice Barrett replaced the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg who was actually a strong supporter of women’s rights!

Democrats tried to stop the appointment of Justice Barrett last year, saying it should wait until after the election. Their efforts were futile though and Amy Coney Barrett was appointed to the Supreme Court.

A law professor from the University of Texas commented that “if states are allowed to effectively ban abortions after the 15th week of pregnancy, as the Mississippi law in this case does, then pregnant women would have a far shorter window in which they could lawfully obtain an abortion than what Roe and Casey currently require.”

Many anti-abortion groups are welcoming the announcement saying it will be a landmark opportunity and the most important abortion case in almost 20 years.

This concerns progressives and democrats who want to expand the Supreme Court in order to balance the current conservative power. They know that cases like this will not go their way with the conservative majority.

With a conservative victory on this case, red states would be quick to ban abortion after 15 weeks which would be a massive victory for pro-lifers.

The case is a bid from Mississippi. The southern state has been trying to pass the law that would ban abortions after 15 weeks, but they have been blocked by lower courts on the premise of Supreme Court precedent. The Supreme Court’s precedent protects a woman’s right to obtain an abortion before the foetus can survive outside of the womb.

Momentan ass den youngest premature baby to survive is 21-weeks old, awfully close to that 15-week mark. With advancements in medicine there is no reason why in the future premature babies born before 15-weeks could survive.

Not to mention the separate debate of abortions not being allowed once a heartbeat is detected. A heartbeat can typically be detected around 6 weeks of pregnancy.

Doesn’t that heart have a right to keep beating?

The World REACTS to Texas Abortion Law

08 September 2021 | Vun Richard Aern - The reaction to the new Texas abortion law that went into effect on the 1st of September has been explosive!

The new abortion law in Texas, the so-called “Heartbeat Act” was signed into law by Texas Governor Greg Abbott this May.

The law bans abortions from as early as six weeks into pregnancy when a heartbeat of the fetus can usually be detected. It also gives individuals the opportunity to sue doctors who perform an abortion after six weeks

The left are fuming…

Biden’s justice department has fired back at Texas, saying it will protect abortion clinics in Texas. US Attorney General Merrick Garland said that the justice department is “urgently” exploring ways to challenge the Texas law.

Garland said, “The department will provide support from federal law enforcement when an abortion clinic or reproductive health center is under attack”.

Joe Biden also condemned the pro-life law saying, “My administration is deeply committed to the constitutional right established in Roe v. Wade nearly five decades ago and will protect and defend that right”.

Even the United Nations voiced their upset with Melissa Upreti saying in a statement to the Guardian, that the Texas law, SB 8, was “structural sex and gender-based discrimination at its worst”.

Firmenamerika also voiced its anger towards the Texas law. Uber and Lyft said they would cover all legal costs for any driver who is sued due to the legislation and dating apps Bumble and Match said they would create a relief fund for people affected.

Not everyone was angry about the law…

Caitlyn Jenner, who’s running for governor in California, played it politically safe by saying she supports “women’s right to choose” but also “supports” Texas’s abortion law.

And then someone got canceled…

John Gibson, president of the game developer Tripwire, voiced his support for the law saying he is a “pro-life game developer”. However, he was soon canceled by the left-leaning company by being forced to step down.

Tripwire said, “Effective immediately, John Gibson has stepped down” and that “His comments disregarded the values of our whole team”.

Unsurprisingly, no one who criticized the law seems to have been canceled!

However, despite the criticism, no one including the Biden administration has much authority to challenge the law, the decision to overturn it would most likely rest in the hands of the Supreme Court.

d' Iewescht Geriicht said it was not ruling on the issue and refused to block it at this point. Whether they consider challenging it at a later date seems unlikely considering the court has an overwhelming conservative majority.
